Are you an Environmental Scientist ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for someone to join our Environmental team to work on meaningful, complex Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects across waste, water and wastewater utility services, quarrying, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. You'll work on projects from inception through to completion, taking real ownership of outcomes. You'll contribute to day-to-day delivery, guide junior team members and sub-consultants, and work alongside colleagues in ecology, ornithology, planning, and other specialist teams. This multidisciplinary environment means you'll expand your expertise and tackle complex projects. Based in our Galway office with hybrid flexibility, you'll gain experience across Ireland's most challenging environmental projects, working alongside our experts. What you'll bring to MKO Take ownership of projects from inception through completion, ensuring high-quality delivery and regular updates to senior team members. Prepare fee proposals and scope of work, demonstrating commercial awareness alongside technical excellence. Contribute to and oversee day-to-day project delivery within the Environmental Team, managing a varied and full workload with meticulous attention to detail. Guide junior team members and sub-consultants to deliver project requirements. Have a strong knowledge of environmental, climate and sustainability issues. Have a good understanding of environmental guidance and law, in particular the EIA Guidance, the EIA Directive, Habitats Directive. What we're looking for in you: A third-level qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related fields that equips you with the necessary skills for the role. A minimum of 1-2 years of post-graduate experience in fulfilling similar functions or in a similar role. Working knowledge of the Irish planning system. Project experience at EIAR, Planning or Construction stage. Knowledge of civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology/hydrogeology, noise, air, traffic, geotechnical and other EIAR subject areas and the interrelationships between them. Meticulous attention to detail combined with the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Collaborative mindset - you work well across disciplines and contribute to a positive team environment. Organised and reliable, with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
