Position Overview: Join Verra Mobility as Senior Counsel, and become part of a dynamic legal team that operates in true partnership with our innovative business teams. This role will report to the Deputy General Counsel and be responsible for providing broad-based legal support across a wide range of operational matters, including regulatory compliance, risk management, privacy, real estate, product development, investigations, and commercial initiatives. Your work will span a wide range of legal subject matters, and each week will bring fresh and varied challenges. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks, develop effective solutions, and support company objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. While this role will involve some contract work-including the ability to structure complex product contracts-the primary focus is on delivering strategic legal counsel across multiple disciplines. Essential Responsibilities: The successful individual will need to be able to work independently and manage a high volume of legal assignments, including legal research, statutory analysis, compliance matters, investigations, privacy matters, real estate, regulatory issues, product development support, disputes, M&A support, and special projects. This role will also involve structuring complex product contracts, though the primary emphasis is on broad-based legal advisory work. In addition, the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: While collaborating directly with our business teams you will be: Advising on and optimizing legal risk and compliance considerations while suggesting creative, business-supportive solutions; Issue-spotting potential legal challenges and running them to ground; and Proactively identifying and anticipating emerging legal and regulatory issues that might impact our products and services. Additional duties include: Managing and overseeing litigation, disputes, and pre-litigation matters, including supervising outside counsel and coordinating legal strategy; Providing legal counsel on employment law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, and compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; Structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex product contracts and select commercial agreements as needed; Supporting the company's privacy and data protection program, including advising on the collection, access, use, sharing, retention, and protection of personally identifiable information (PII), and ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws, regulations, and internal policies; Supporting the company's real estate leases and working with outside counsel to negotiate leases; Supporting regulatory matters, including licensing, attorney general complaints, and compliance with applicable regulations; Advising on product development, operational initiatives, and new market offerings to ensure legal and regulatory compliance; Supporting internal investigations, responding to government inquiries, and managing interactions with regulators and enforcement agencies; Supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions by assisting with legal due diligence, risk assessment, integration planning, and co
