Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll processing for faculty, staff, and student employees.
  • Process Workday appointments and related payroll transactions.
  • Calculate, initiate, and prepare payroll adjustments, including:

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: One (1) year of professional payroll experience.
  • Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
  • Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable payroll related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of payroll functions.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response.

Smith School of Business, serving a population of over 1,000 active employees, including faculty, exempt and non-exempt staff, and student employees. This position assists with payroll processing and performs transactional payroll responsibilities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant compensation practices. The role works closely with the Payroll HR Shared Service Manager and other stakeholders to support college-wide payroll operations.
