Job Summary: In this role as a UI/UX Engineer, you will design and build intuitive, accessible user experiences for web applications used within Wabtec Transit IoT and Smart Data products. You will translate user needs and Figma designs into high-quality Angular interfaces using TypeScript and collaborate with backend engineers to integrate performance APIs and services (including Go-based services) that deliver reliable, secure functionality to end users. Primary responsibilities: 1. Develop and enhance Angular web applications using TypeScript, delivering user-focused features from backlog through to release. 2. Partner with UX and product stakeholders to understand user needs, validate designs, and ensure the delivered UI matches intent and constraints. 3. Translate Figma components and interaction patterns into reusable Angular components, contributing to a shared design system. 4. Implement UI quality practices including unit/integration tests, linting, and peer review to maintain a high standard of engineering. 5. Work with backend engineers to define and consume APIs, troubleshoot integration issues, and contribute where needed to Go services. 6. Ensure performance and accessibility are considered throughout development (e.g., responsive layout, efficient rendering, WCAG compliance). 7. Estimate, plan, and deliver work in an agile/scrum environment, contributing to sprint ceremonies and continuous improvement. 8. Build and maintain UI documentation (components, patterns, and usage guidance) to support consistent delivery across teams. 9. Maintain source control (Git) and CI practice front-end builds, ensuring reliable releases and traceability. 1 - General Business 10. Proactively engage with cross-functional teams (product, UX, backend, security, DevOps) to resolve issues and deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions. Qualification / Requirement: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in CS/E&C/IS/IT/EEE with Overall Working experience of 5+ Years - Proven work experience as a UI/UX Engineer (or Front-End Engineer with strong UX focus) delivering production web applications. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Should be very good in verbal and written English communication Essential Requirements: - Professional technical experience: 5+ years building web applications - Strong TypeScript experience and modern front-end engineering practices - Hands-on experience with Angular (components, routing, forms, state management, testing) - Ability to work from and contribute to Figma designs (components, styles, prototypes) and maintain design consistency - Working knowledge of Go (reading/writing services, debugging API interactions) to support end-to-end delivery Desired Requirements : - Experience building and maintaining a design system / component library - Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS (SCSS), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility - Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices - Experience consuming and/or designing REST/JSON APIs; - understanding of authentication/authorization patterns - Experience with automated testing for web apps (e.g., unit + end-to-end testing) - Exposure to secure coding practices and common web security considerations (e.g., OWASP) - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for front-end applications - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. - Knowledge of secure coding practices and experience with application security testing in AWS, GitL
