About the role

This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing screening and diagnostic mammography and bone density testing to women and men of all ages. Job Description Job Duties Performs mammography exams and Dexa's. Demonstrates skill in using PACS, Hologic and EPIC systems. Documents and updates patient history as needed. Adheres to State of Iowa Radiation safety regulations. Assists with training of new employees as needed. Provides the radiologists with current and accurate patient history. Flexes hours as needed to provide adequate staff scheduling. Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expert with screening and diagnostic mammography equipment, hospital and department information system and bone density testing. Strong knowledge base of special needs of young adult to older adult women (and men). Professional Experience One year of experience as a radiographer who has worked in Diagnostic Imaging, CT, MR or CV Lab strongly preferred. Education N/A Licensure, Certification, Registration Current certification in Basic Life Support, in accordance with the American Heart Association required. American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) certificate required. Required State of Iowa "Permit to Practice". Mammography certification preferred. Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date. External applicants earn up to $15,000 signing bonus! We will train a radiographer in mammography and pay for education and certification. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Mercy's Women's Center is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Radiologic Technologist/Mammographer to join our full-time Comprehensive Breast Imaging team.
