Student Accounts Representatives make sure the University bills and collects the revenue for tuition and fees charged to students. The billing portion they may do themselves or approve the work of others. The University accepts cash, check and credit or debit card payments for tuition and fees from students via phone calls or in person. This position will involve handling cash. Position Accountabilities Accountabilities Monitor and respond timely and accurately to student and staff calls and emails Cashier window coverage / Accepting student payments Review and approve student refunds Audit and enter third party invoices for the Campus Centers Review tuition adjustments for accuracy following enrollment adjustments Prepare / Send student balance letters Prepare and execute journal entries as needed for student fees, etc. Audit receivables and follow-up as appropriate Meet weekly deadlines Additional duties as assigned Scope Student Accounts Representatives serve all students. In addition to the largest campus in Parkville, there are approximately 8 other Campus Centers throughout the US and online, with a population totaling nearly 6,000 total students. Student Accounts Representatives support these Campus Centers and students. Organization This position reports to the Director of Student Accounts. Challenges and Opportunities This position is in a fast-paced environment and requires high accuracy as well as a great deal of multitasking. Exceptional communication skills and excellent customer service skills are necessary to provide the level of student services required. Compliance with privacy laws is required. The workload cycles with the progression of each term, and there are predictable peaks in work levels. Position Requirements: Position Requirements High school degree or GED is required. A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred and may be accepted in lieu of direct work experience. 1-3 years of experience in cash handling, customer service, and accounting experience is required.
