The Research Operations group, which works closely with Research Institutes and other University directorates in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role offers varied, hands-on experience with opportunities to develop new skills, troubleshoot issues, and support day-to-day operations. ** Responsibilities We are looking to recruit a Technical Assistant with previous experience of working in a laboratory environment to join our Research Operations group at Tooting Campus. The Research Operations group, which works closely with Research Institutes and other University directorates in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role offers varied, hands-on experience with opportunities to develop new skills, troubleshoot issues, and support day-to-day operations. ** Person Specification We are seeking a candidate with proven experience working in a laboratory environment and hands-on exposure to Liquid Nitrogen and/or pressure vessels. Knowledge of purchasing principles and experience in the shipment of biological samples and/or dangerous goods are desirable. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, alongside a good standard of IT proficiency, particularly in Windows-based programmes. This role requires a proactive and safety-conscious individual capable of supporting laboratory operations efficiently and effectively. You will be expected to do manual handling of equipment and good physical fitness is required.
