Position Title: Guest Service Representative - Weekend Shift Job Description: HINDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE Job Descriptions JOB TITLE:Guest Service Representative REPORTS TO: Director - Eagle Ridge Conference Center & Resort DEPARTMENT: Auxiliary EXEMPT: Non-Exempt VICE PRESIDENT: Facilities & Auxiliaries GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION All Hinds Community College employees must commit to the Caring Campus approach to student engagement and daily apply these general behavioral objectives: listen to student questions and concerns with a positive attitude and make meaningful connections with students. The Guest Service Representative will be responsible for assisting our guests in person and on the phone. They will work with checking in & checking out guests as well as making reservations for future visitors. They will also be responsible for taking in payment at time of check in. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Applicant must have a high school diploma and work experience in an office environment. The candidate will be working either the 7 AM - 3 PM shift or the 3 PM - 11 PM or the 8 AM - 4 PM shift with little to no supervision. This person must be flexible with the shift hours. Schedule will be based on bookings and hotel guest's arrivals. The candidate must have office/clerical experience and be able to provide excellent customer service to all guests of Eagle Ridge Conference Center & Resort. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Applicant must have a high school diploma and work experience in an office environment. Must have strong computer skills. Desirable: Associate's Degree in hospitality or hotel guest services experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices. Answer incoming calls and transfer to appropriate office if needed Directing visitors to the correct meeting space, guestrooms or office area Check in/Check out hotel guests using front desk computer software Collect payments in the form of cash, check, credit card and/or purchase orders Perform data entry assignments as needed Take reservations for guestrooms through telephone calls or in person Maintain a clean and welcoming environment SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
