About the role

We are seeking a Group Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for two of Vestcom's highest-priority growth areas: In-Store Digital Media and Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL). This role is responsible for driving business outcomes across both product lines, leading a team of product managers, and partnering closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to deliver products that create measurable value for retailers and brands. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on discovery practices, maintaining direct relationships with customers while coaching their team to do the same. This is a high-visibility role at the center of Vestcom's transformation from paper-based solutions to digital retail media, representing Vestcom not only to customers but also to partners, industry peers, and the press.

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Outcomes
  • Own product vision and roadmap for In-Store Digital Media and ESL product lines, with accountability for business outcomes including retailer adoption, brand revenue, and margin performance
  • Define and track success metrics that connect product initiatives to business results, not just feature delivery
  • Make prioritization decisions based on customer value and business impact, adjusting course as you learn what works
  • Identify market adjacencies that expand the addressable market and develop effective product strategies to pursue them
  • Customer Discovery & Validation
  • Conduct ongoing customer research, including weekly conversations with retailers, brands, and store operations teams
  • Identify customer problems and opportunities through direct engagement, translating insights into product strategy
  • Design and run experiments to validate product hypotheses before committing significant engineering resources
  • Build evidence-based business cases for new initiatives, including market sizing and competitive positioning
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop product managers, with emphasis on building discovery capabilities and strategic thinking
  • Foster a team culture focused on learning and outcomes rather than output volume
  • Create clarity on goals and priorities while giving team members autonomy in how they achieve results
  • Advance product management rigor and productivity across the team
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with engineering and design as part of integrated product teams, collaborating on solutions rather than handing off requirements
  • Work with sales, marketing, and customer success on go-to-market strategy, positioning, and sales enablement
  • Partner with the commercial team to help drive client adoption of new products
  • Communicate product strategy, progress, and learnings to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading or managing other product managers
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering products that achieved measurable business outcomes
  • Experience with B2B products, preferably in retail, media, advertising technology, or hardware/software solutions
  • Strong customer research skills with experience conducting discovery interviews and translating insights into strategy
  • Experience navigating ambiguous, early-stage product challenges where the path forward required experimentation
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to influence without authority across engineering, design, and commercial teams
  • Customer-focused product leader who approaches problems from the customer's lens
  • Demonstrated success in all aspects of marketing, including, but not exclusive to the development and execution of marketing plans, consumer insights, market building, and marketing communications.
  • Excellent strategic thinker with action and results orientation.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and integrate cross-functionally.
  • Able to effectively organize, plan and manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Must be able to champion new business ventures.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong teamwork and relationship building skills.
  • Possess leadership, mentoring, training and project management experience and skills

Requirements

  • Experience with retail media networks, in-store technology, or shelf-edge solutions
  • Background in two-sided marketplace or platform products serving both retailers and brands
  • Experience with hardware/software integrated products or IoT deployments
  • Familiarity with modern product discovery practices (e.g., opportunity solution trees, continuous discovery)
  • Experience working with enterprise retail customers (grocery, mass merchandise, convenience)
  • Experience working in a remote environment, with offshore contractors and/or in a global environment
  • Understanding of the modern tech stack, cloud, and complex data systems
  • Familiarity with AI applications
