We Take Care of Our Team What You Drive at DTNA General Responsibilities of Tech Fellow: Technical Fellows are recognized throughout DTNA as a technical expert and leading in a strategic and complex technical discipline. They must have a strong Daimler network and are expected to establish and maintain industry connections. Proactively identifies and solves the most complex problems within technical discipline and ensures continuous improvement. Anticipates business challenges and regulatory issues affecting technical discipline Develops technical roadmap for responsible technical discipline as part of DTNA's strategy to advance the state-of-the-art DTNA is leading the industry in responsible area Coaches Engineering and other affected departments on all levels in important topics in area of technical discipline Gives inspiring technical presentations - technical meetings, Tech Talks and Engineering training Finds, tackles and solves knowledge gaps within the technical discipline by effectively communicating within Daimler, the industry and academia Own knowledge is continuously growing and shared within Daimler with focus on DTNA Safeguards intellectual property Publishes technical articles, technical specifications, standards and white papers Represents DTNA in external technical groups, forums and societies Engineering Integrity, Compliance & System Concepts for (e)-Powertrain Tech Fellow Responsibilities: Lead engineering integrity, validation discipline, and quality strategy across vehicle programs for electric and electrified powertrain systems, ensuring engineering decisions remain robust, safe, and compliant. Provide independent system-level technical oversight for complex vehicle and propulsion system decisions, including requirements traceability, validation completeness, and risk identification early in development. Drive development and continuous improvement of vehicle-level validation strategies, including DV/PV planning, milestone and gate readiness, and alignment between design, validation, quality, and functional safety requirements. Ensure adherence to key engineering quality processes such as DFMEA/PFMEA, structured issue tracking, root-cause analysis, and proactive risk mitigation for complex technical issues. Verify traceability to internal engineering standards, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and functional safety expectations across the responsible technical discipline. Partner across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and supplier organizations to improve documentation consistency, validation discipline, and technical execution across programs. Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex engineering challenges, supplier validation interfaces, and cross-organizational quality topics impacting vehicle-level product integrity. Represent DTNA in external technical forums and standards activities, translate industry best practices into internal processes, and strengthen the organization through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership. Knowledge You Should Bring Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; Other relevant advanced degrees, including MBA preferred. 12 years of relevant industry experience in a strategic and complex technical discipline; equivalent progression through advanced technical leadership roles may be considered. Deep expertise in heavy-duty commercial vehicle systems engineering, including vehicle electrical/electronic systems, high-voltage architecture and safety, battery and (e-)Powertrain systems, validation, and engineering quality. Demonstrated experience developing vehicle-level validation strategies and ensuring traceability to requirements, standards, regulatory obligations, and functional safety expectations. Strong working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA, DV/PV planning and execution, analytical failure analysis, structured problem solving, and risk management for complex technical systems.
