Lecturer in Travel and Tourism

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess learners across a range of Travel & Tourism programmes and qualifications
• Deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons that develop learners' understanding of the global travel and tourism sector
• Utilise specialist resources, including our purpose-built aircraft cabin facility, to enhance learning and provide practical insight into aviation and passenger service careers
• Support learners to achieve qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships, higher education, or specialist industry training
• Use practical and creative teaching approaches to bring destinations, tourism operations, customer service, aviation, and industry trends to life
• Organise and support educational visits, employer engagement activities, and enrichment opportunities where appropriate
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and learner wellbeing
• Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
• Contribute to curriculum development and help create an inspiring learning environment

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Travel & Tourism, Tourism Management, Hospitality, Aviation, Events, or a related subject (Level 3 or above)
• Strong industry knowledge and the ability to inspire learners through real-world examples
• Experience working of working within the travel, tourism, hospitality, aviation, visitor attraction, or events sectors is desirable, or supporting learners in education or training
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A commitment to inclusive teaching and learner success
• A Level 4 teaching qualification or above is welcomed - but if you don't have one yet, we'll support you to achieve it while you work
