GENERAL SUMMARY Provide the leadership and supervision for Facilities/ Commercial Engineering, Plant and Nuclear Bargaining Units and Building Trades personnel that report directly to this position. Crew size could vary from 8 to 40 craftsmen. Leadership and supervision may need to be provided to other supervisors and engineers for the outage activities under your control. Monitor individual and crew performance to assure performance standards are met and provide feedback on performance to employees. Provide oversight for outage work activities under your control. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Provide leadership and supervision by: A. Supporting and implementing the vision, goals and standards of performance that aim the Facilities/Comm Eng Department towards continual improvements in teamwork, professionalism, productivity, and quality of work. B. Ensuring programs, processes, and procedures support safe, efficient, and productive work practices. C. Provide contractor and vendor oversite, providing feedback and coaching to Energy Northwest Standards and help resolve issues to achieve successful work. D. Manage budget assigned to supervisor, ensure budget goals are met each year by implementing the work based on approved budget and provide updates to manager on deviations. E. Providing sound guidance to crew members and making decisions consistent with management expectations and cost of power. 2. Prepare and stage assigned work to assure successful completion by: A. Providing estimates of person-hours for assigned tasks. B. Reviewing assigned work packages and assuring support to perform the work is identified and scheduled. C. Selecting and assigning appropriately skill-qualified personnel to perform assigned work. D. Staging the work and preparing the individuals assigned by thorough pre-job briefings of the specific tasks and verifying their qualifications to successfully perform the work. E. Coordinate with BPA, ASH Substation, Monroe control center, City of Richland for electrical outages and emergent issues that affect IDC, ENOC and Columbia facilities. F. Coordinate with HMIS, DOE and Property owners for site maintenance and access for EP equipment G. Coordinate with PSRO, WWM, SM, SSS and security for daily and monthly work including but not limited to; plant equipment maintenance, B5B, Flex equipment, Demin Trailer, potable water repairs, fire protection, EP, emergency generators, E&RP, flex training. H. Create contract Scope of Work documents and contract change requests. I. Preparing the work site consistent with the scheduled activity start date to accommodate the safe, controlled performance of the activity. 3. Monitoring and coordinating work in the field to assure timely completion by: A. Routinely observing and assessing the work site and status of work to assure that problems and coordination issues are being resolved in the field. B. Making minor changes to work instructions as necessary to support work start and completion and involving the cognizant Facilities Engineer to resolve schedule impacting changes in a timely manner. C. Assuring the work package is completed as the work is performed so that the package can be closed in a timely manner by those performing the work. 4. Monitor the work packages to ensure they are completed as the work is performed so that the package can be closed in a timely manner by those performing the work by: A. Assuring that management expectations, company policies and work related requirements are well understood and accurately communicating these with crew members both in content and context. B. Supervising work in progress and providing coaching and feedback on individual and crew performance against the work plan, applicable requirements, and management expectations regarding the conduct of Facilities/Comm Eng. maintenance/modification work. C. Reviewing work documentation prior to the closeout to ensure accuracy and completeness, and that work objectives are met. D. Preparing follow-up reports to ensure problems identified during the performance of work are closed out properly (work requests, problem evaluation requests, etc.). E. Establishing and monitoring individual performance and training plans for crewmembers and providing performance feedback on both a situational and periodic basis. F. Assuring the proper conduct of OJT through observation and evaluation of OJT activities and feedback to the OJT instructor and student. 5. For outage support activities under your control: A.
