About the role

Werribee Mercy Hospital is entering a landmark new phase, with the opening of a major Emergency Department expansion. This expansion will significantly increase our capacity and enable us to meet the rapidly growing healthcare needs of the Wyndham community, providing timely, high-quality emergency care to an additional 25,000 patients each year. As Mercy Health prepares to launch this expanded service, we are looking for Registrars who are seeking more than a standard rotation. These roles will play a critical role in building and shaping the medical workforce that will support the expanded Emergency Department from day one. This is a rare opportunity to join a service at a defining moment, contributing to the establishment of a modern, high-capability emergency department within one of Australia's fastest-growing corridors. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality emergency care within a growing and evolving service. The new Emergency Department is ACEM accredited as a non-major referral centre for 2 years of training. It will offer you the opportunity to: Work within state-of-the-art facilities, including 4 new resuscitation bays , a 16-bed Short Stay Unit (SSU) , and purpose-built fast track, paediatric and behavioural assessment zones . Rotate to other specialties in-house that satisfy non-ED training such as ICU, Anaesthetics and O&G. Satisfy Paediatric Log book (PBL) component of training. Benefit from weekly protected registrar education and direct FACEM mentorship as the service scales. About you: Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). High standards of practice with a strong commitment to consumer and carer focused service. Ability to work flexibly within the Public Emergency Health Services system. Prior experience working in the Public Emergency Health Services system will be of benefit.
