About the role

Serves as a materials expediter in the Facilities Operations & Services Division (FOSD) and is responsible for obtaining, receiving, identifying, routing, issuing, storing, re-warehousing, and expediting supplies, parts, equipment, tools and other materials for Department of Defense (DoD) organizations in and around the Pentagon Reservation. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 45 pounds, and at times may handle items weighing over 45 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating trucks and forklift hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, stopping, raising, lowering, and tilting loads being moved. WORKING CONDITIONS: Regularly exposed to possible injury associated with handling equipment. Work is usually performed indoors in well-lighted and ventilated holding areas or shop areas. May be exposed for short periods to outdoor conditions. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, dust, fumes, and vibrations. May be required to wear protective clothing such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses, or gloves.
