Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred).
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the applicable provincial licensing body.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within long-term care or a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and build strong relationships.
  • Experience implementing quality improvement initiatives that drive positive resident outcomes.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant technologies.

The Director of Care (DOC) is a highly skilled and compassionate leader responsible for delivering exceptional, resident-centered care within a long-term care home.
