Security Specialist (nuclear)

About the role

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) in the Security Office, Code 1120 of PSNS and IMF. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing and providing technical expertise over a comprehensive security program for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) and Special Nuclear Material (SNM). This includes developing, implementing, and overseeing security policies and procedures in compliance with directives from the Department of the Navy (DON), Department of Energy (DOE), and other federal agencies. The experience must also include conducting audits and inspections of secure facilities; managing physical security systems such as automated access controls and intrusion detection systems; coordinating security operations for reactor refueling and defueling; and serving as a principal advisor on matters related to nuclear security..
