Responsibilities
- Maintain a safety and quality mindset and follow all safety and quality guidelines and protocols
- Utilize scan gun to complete transactions within ERP system and complete all associated paperwork documenting the transactions
- Protect employees and company safety and security through the safe operation of forklifts and reporting and minimizing occurrences such as damage to property, damage to product, and damage to equipment
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in combos according to predetermined sequence
- Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distributes them to production areas maintaining staging areas with adequate amount of product and/or material in accordance with the required production rate
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed including verifying packing lists and/or product labels
- Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area, including following the appropriate process for department cross-over to avoid cross-contamination
- Support employees in other areas with various production related tasks and/or projects
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks in other areas of the manufacturing plant as needed
- Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
- 1-2 years of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle
- Experience working with ERP system (preferred)
- Experience working in a food or pet food manufacturing facility (preferred)
- Experience working within an automated manufacturing setting (preferred)
- Forklift certification
