Job Description The Department of Human Development and Family Studies seeks applications throughout the year from individuals who are interested in obtaining non-tenure track teaching positions within the CSU Early Childhood Center working with young children between the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. ECC teachers adhere to the mission, policies, and procedures of the ECC as well as State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. The role of the Assistant Teacher is to support Mentor and Classroom Teachers in management of the classroom. Assistant Teachers are expected to adhere to the mission, policies, and procedures at the ECC as well as State of Colorado licensing requirements, and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a Reggio Emilia inspired approach. This is a part-time position with varying weekly hours up to 19 hours per week. Essential Job Duties 1. Support daily classroom operations by implementing classroom routines, maintaining a safe and sanitized environment, and actively supervising and engaging children throughout the day. 2. Collaborate with Mentor and Classroom Teachers to implement the Reggio Emilia approach, support children's learning and behavior guidance, and plan engaging activities and provocations. 3. Maintain effective communication with staff and families by following ECC policies and procedures, reviewing classroom updates, and positively engaging with parents during drop-off and pick-up times.
