About the role
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer with an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN.
Responsibilities
- Provide a strategic support interface between Production, Engineering, Projects, and the Maintenance Organizations by providing recommendations and technical expertise to enhance equipment design, reliability, and maintainability.
- Fill a critical role in optimizing asset management processes through utilization of proactive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime, failure rates and maximize equipment reliability.
- Define and provide implementation support for recommendations that ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems.
- Provide reliability-based technical support for Production, Operations, Infrastructure Management and Craft personnel.
- Gather, review, and analyze data concerning facility or equipment Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Inspect ability (RAMI) specifications.
- Review technical documents that depict or define reliability, accessibility, maintainability or inspect ability features of systems, equipment and facilities including technical basis documentation, manuals and datasheets.
- Lead role in integration of project and plant RAMI deliverables.
- Develop proactive maintenance strategies for structures, systems and components.
- Perform Equipment Failure Mode Identification and Root Cause Failure Analysis.
- Trend Analysis of structures, systems, and components.
- Define, develop, implement, revise, and monitor Asset Management Plan(s) for structures, systems and components.
- Effective deployment of condition based, predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems before failure occurrence.
Requirements
- Education & Years of Experience - To be considered, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and 5+ years of direct experience.
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance - To be considered, you must have an active or very recently active DOE "Q" Clearance or DoD "Top Secret" Clearance.
