Role Summary The Sourcing Engineer Intern will support supplier identification, cost analysis, and procurement activities to strengthen our global supply chain. This role provides hands on exposure to sourcing processes and cross functional collaboration. Internship Details - Location: Pune, India - Duration: 3-6 months
Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier research and preliminary capability assessments
- Support RFQ preparation, quote analysis, and cost benchmarking
- Assist with supplier communication, documentation, and follow ups
- Maintain sourcing data, reports, and compliance records
- Coordinate with engineering, quality, and operations teams on sourcing tasks
- Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ) work packages that include drawings, condition of supply, etc.
- Analyze financial data for comparison which include 'buy v buy' or 'make v buy'
- Develop technical expertise on machining/fabrications and other commodities as required with emphasis on first pass yield and sustainability within the supply chain working closely with regional procurement team
- Control supplier Q, C, D, R performance
- Candidate must be able to work with minimal technical supervision and supplemental engineering support, while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities
- Work closely with Commercial Sourcing, Business teams, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality
- Entry Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering field
- Strong analytical and communication skills (English)
- Proficiency in Excel/Sheets; ability to interpret basic engineering drawings
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

- Exposure to procurement or supply chain processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems and cost analysis concepts
