OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT The Water Trades group supports numerous functions across Aurora Water. This includes but is not limited to raw water conveyance, water treatment functions, stormwater infrastructure improvements, and Wastewater functions. Within these functions, the Water Trades Technician is responsible for metal fabrication, small equipment maintenance, 3D printing applications, and a demonstrated ability to utilize Computer Aided Design applications. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop solutions for customers' problems through the design and fabrication of prototypes and the production of custom solutions or modifications to existing products Provides assistance in the design, welding, and fabrication of apparatuses, tools, and parts common to the operation and maintenance of a water and wastewater utility Performs necessary preventative maintenance and repair of equipment components Provides maintenance and repair to all small portable equipment, such as pumps, generators, demolition saws, and air compressors Hydraulics repair and troubleshooting, electrical repair and troubleshooting, as it relates to equipment common to a water/wastewater utility Operates specialized equipment related to the assigned function Respond to emergency repairs of infrastructure Performs additional duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
