QA/QC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures and plans.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of materials, equipment, and construction activities to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and standards.
• Monitor and inspect welding processes, NDT activities, and material test results.
• Prepare and review QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test certificates, and non-conformance reports.
• Identify potential quality issues and propose corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related problems.
• Participate in root cause analysis for quality failures and implement lessons learned.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FLSmidth's safety and environmental policies.
• Provide training and guidance to project personnel on QA/QC requirements.
• What you bring
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mining Machinery, Industrial, or a related field).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within the mining, heavy industry, or construction sectors.
• Strong knowledge of international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, ASTM, EN, ISO).
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience with various inspection techniques, including NDT methods.
• Upper intermediate proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be a Mongolian citizen or a resident legally authorized to work in Mongolia
• Due to the physical demands of the role, male candidate is preferred; experience in manual lifting, grinding, and polishing
