Avio Aero is strengthening the Apulia Repair Development Centre team to support the development of additive technologies for advanced repair solutions on commercial and military engine components. You will work in an international engineering environment, in close collaboration with Global Supply Chain and university partners. In this role, you will manage the full CAD/CAM process, including laser scanning, CAD modeling, CAM toolpath definition, Part Program verification, support to deposition activities, and post-processing of repaired components, ensuring compliance with Company standards. You will also support technical assessments and production activities, working with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to improve manufacturability and producibility through a Lean approach. Job Description Essential responsibilities Be the owner of the entire CAD/CAM cycle at the Apulia Repair Development Center, starting from geometry acquisition, Part Program definition to post deposition checks Define the concept design of tooling necessary to support component repair, progressing it to detailed design for procurement Define the concept design of cold spray masking tooling necessary to support component repair, progressing it to detailed design for procurement Use designated CAM software to program ABB and KUKA robot toolpath motion Support machine operators, if needed, while they operate robots Develop innovative CAM methodology to support the application of advance repairs to aircraft engine components Approach CAD/CAM strategies to allow advanced repairs to achieve the objectives of cost, performance and life of the repaired part Define the procedures that ensure appropriate system calibration to meet quality standards of the repaired product Issue relevant technical documents (i.e. specifications, reports, drawings) Proactively support and coordinate activities in conjunction with manufacturing departments and suppliers to identify and implement constantly technology improvements (i.e. machine hardware and software updates, cost-out activities) Contribute to definition of the technology progression plan to develop the CAD/CAM system in Apulia Repair Development Center Collaborate with Maintenance and EHS to ensure maximum availability of the Apulia Repair Development Center robot equipment Develop and maintain structured know-how of CAD/CAM Technology, leveraging the concurrence with GE Avio Repair Stations and with other global GE Aviation Repair Stations Qualification/Requirements Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Sense of ownership, attitude for collaboration, proactivity Technical Accountability/Ownership Technical program management skills Good technical skills Proficiency in Italian and English language Good oral and written communication skills Good interpersonal and leadership skills Willingness to learn about and develop robot assisted manufacturing cells Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required Desired Characteristics Passionate about fielded aviation engines Passionate about mechanical design and advanced technology development Good materials and special processes knowledge Previous experience in Aerospace Design and/or Repair Engineering; CAD tools knowledge Previous experience with Siemens NX CAD system Previous experience with Autocad, Powershape and Powermill software Previous experience with laser 3D scanning systems Previous experience in robot CAM programming Previous experience in rapid prototyping (3D printing) Robot calibration methodology knowledge will be considered as a plus
