Director of Community Experiences and Wellness Coordinator at Hillel at Dartmouth College

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships with students: oriented toward their needs, passions and interests, deepening their involvement in Jewish life
• Foster a culture of resilience and connection: Create strategies with students and colleagues to infuse a well-being framework into current Jewish life experiences at Hillel, with a global view toward offerings supporting social, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
• Provide staff training and consultation: Build a unified culture on our team and equip our staff to offer appropriate student support and referrals.
• Assess student and community needs: Collaborate with student-facing staff to continually assess wellness needs on each campus, ensuring Hillel is responsive to student needs and cultivates wellness practices across our community.
• Integrate into Jewish campus life: Participate as a member of the Hillel professional team, including rotational coverage for Shabbat, major holidays such as the first night of Rosh Hashanah and Passover, and other key observances in coordination with major campus events.
• What You'll Bring to the Job
• A graduate-level degree in social work, public health or a related field
• 3-5 years of post-graduate experience working in a community based setting (i.e. school, community center, camp etc)
• A commitment to Jewish pluralism and the ability to create welcoming spaces that respect and celebrate the diversity of Jewish identities, backgrounds, practices, and perspectivesStrong relationship-building skills
• Experience training or empowering college students to design opportunities to promote their social, emotional, or physical well-being.
• Proactive communication and collaboration.
• Readiness to connect students with support as they navigate diverse issues
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, both within an organization and with external partners as well as manage multiple projects.
• What You'll Receive
• A salary of $75,000 - $80,000 based on experience.

Director of Community Experiences and Wellness Coordinator Hillel at Dartmouth College Role Overview As the Director of Community Experiences and Support you will lead our efforts to create an environment with students and staff where showing up is easy, experiences are nourishing and students feel genuinely cared for. In this innovative, non-clinical role, you will approach wellbeing through a community-first lens-integrating evidence-based practices from social work, positive psychology, and experiential education into our organizational culture. Programmatically, you will leverage Dartmouth and Hanover's unique natural landscape and vibrant arts scene to design sacred pauses from campus grind culture, using shared cooking, creative art-making, and outdoor recreation to foster resilience. Systemically, you will act as a vital resource for our community: assessing wellness trends, maintaining a robust network of campus resources, and training our student-facing staff to support students,promote their wellbeing and navigate referrals to College clinical services, when needed. By balancing creative, low-barrier engagement with strategic team consultation, you will help us honor the whole person as a vital part of nurturing a vibrant Jewish community. You will thrive in this role if you are enthusiastic about realizing vision, leveraging strategic campus partnerships, and applying your skills and passion to our specialized setting, serving a burgeoning Jewish community on a premier college campus. This position reports to the Assistant Director and collaborates closely with our student-facing engagement professionals.
