What's in Store for You: As a Howl-O-Scream Scare Actor (Performer II), you'll dive into an array of chillingly fun responsibilities, ensuring our guests leave with lasting spooky memories. Here's what you'll do: Deliver spine-tingling performances and scares to our thrill-seeking guests. Join an award-winning Scare-Event. Dive into exclusive employee-only events like ride nights and special previews. Collaborate with our production team to elevate Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego. Form lifelong bonds within the SeaWorld Entertainment Community. Spine-Chilling Roles We Need Filled: 🧞 Haunted House Performers: Stationary and active roles available. Some scripted dialogue required Pathway Scare Performers: Roaming and interactive positions on guest pathways M.C./Event Host/Vignette Performers: Scripted, high-energy characters for stage or street events Specialty Performers: Including contortionists, sliders, and stilt walkers (drywall-style stilts) DJs : Live mixing experience preferred Internal Ambassadors: Please be sure to submit your application through SeaPort/Workday to be considered. Howl-O-Scream 2026 runs Friday, September 11th - Sunday, November 1st. What it Takes to Join the Squad: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Bring your animated, fun, and outgoing personality! Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred. Ability to openly accept performance feedback/critiques and adapt accordingly. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme temperatures while maintaining a high-level of professionalism and performance skills. Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule - i.e. ability to work opening and closing shifts, as well as after-hour rehearsals. Consistently and expertly executes stage direction and show content as directed by Event and Show Producers and Entertainment Leadership. Previous experience in Theme Park Entertainment, Dance, Theatre, or related field is preferred. Able to work in an environment with atmospheric effects (strobes, fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubbles, snow, scents, etc.). Must be able to positively interact with park guests and team members of all ages, ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or languages, and individuals with special needs. Must have strong verbal communication skills. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time. Position engages in the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks. Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and/or jump up repeatedly for the duration of your shift. Must be comfortable with the possibility of performing in multi-layered clothing, face masks (partial, or full), wigs, and other theatrical costuming. Position also engages in a variety of vocalizations such as: sudden screams, gasps, wails, vocal manipulation, etc. Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
