Position Title: Registrar I - University of Oklahoma Medical Center - Emergency Department - Part-Time 7p-7a Saturday and Sunday (Weekend Overnight) Department: Admitting Job Description: The Registrar I is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration by interviewing patients to obtain all pertinent account information and verify insurance coverage. Essential Responsibilities Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. Interview patients at workstation or bedside to obtain necessary account information. Ensure charts are completed and accurate. Verify insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization. Verify insurance benefits and calculate and collect patient liable amounts. Secure all necessary signatures for treatment and billing. Explain policies regarding services, charges, and payments. Process patient charts and registration paperwork. Welcome patients and family members professionally. Assign coverages and research the patient's visit history. Prepare daily deposits and maintain cash drawer integrity. Register and admit patients after hours. Escort patients or arrange for escort services. Attend mandatory education and training sessions. General Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
