About the role

The Facilities Engineering (FE) Information Management (IM) Data Analyst is part of the Engineering Services organization within Chevron's ENGINE center. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and alignment of engineering and operational data across Information Management systems, with a strong focus on Digital Twin enablement. This role performs detailed data comparisons between IM systems, identifies data gaps impacting Digital Twin reliability, and leads or supports data gap resolution activities to ensure high quality, trusted data for operations, maintenance, and projects. The IM Data Analyst works closely with Chevron's North America deepwater FE/Operations, Information Management, Digital, Engineering, and IT stakeholders to support data governance, improve data quality, and enable effective decision making across the asset lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Data Comparison & Analysis
  • Perform detailed data comparisons across multiple Information Management systems (e.g., document management systems, asset registers, engineering data repositories) to identify inconsistencies, misalignments, and data quality issues.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data to validate completeness, accuracy, and compliance with IM standards and data models.
  • Support reconciliation of data between source systems and downstream platforms, including Digital Twin environments.
  • Digital Twin Data Gap Identification
  • Identify data gaps, missing attributes, incorrect relationships, or misclassified data that impact Digital Twin fidelity and usability.
  • Assess data readiness for Digital Twin use cases such as operations, maintenance, management of change (MOC), inspections, and engineering workflows.
  • Document and remediate data gap findings and communicate risks, impacts, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Data Gap Resolution & Remediation
  • Support data gap resolution activities, including data cleansing, enrichment, correction, and validation.
  • Coordinate with system owners, data stewards, engineers, and vendors to remediate data issues at the source or through governed correction processes.
  • Validate resolved data and confirm alignment across IM systems and Digital Twin platforms.
  • Information Management & Data Governance Support
  • Apply Information Management standards, metadata requirements, and data governance practices to ensure sustained data quality.
  • Support data quality reporting, tracking recurring issues, and recommending process improvements to prevent future gaps.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IM processes, data models, and Digital Twin data workflows.
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with cross functional teams including Information Management, Digital, Engineering, Operations, and IT to align data requirements and priorities.
  • Prepare clear documentation, dashboards, or summaries of data quality findings, risks, and remediation progress.
  • Required Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Information Management systems, engineering data, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience in engineering, operations, or capital project environments.
  • Understanding of PIDs, Data Sheets, Equipment Lists
  • Demonstrated experience performing engineering/equipment data analysis, data comparison, or data quality assessments across multiple systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, gaps, and root causes in complex datasets.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
