Job Summary The Escrow Officer is primarily responsible for performing tasks related to settlement operations in the closing of real estate transactions. Acts as liaison between all parties to the transaction including homebuyer, seller, mortgage, accounting and other areas within the Title & Escrow Process. Primary Job Responsibilities Handle all aspects of the settlement transactions including preparation and approval of Settlement Statements, preparation and coordination of deeds, verify accuracy of loan documents, insurance documentation, seller statements, and contract or sales agreement. Obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain all documents executed as needed, and facilitate questions/answers between parties to the transaction. Follow Escrow Accounting Business Practice Guidelines which includes but is not limited to collection and disbursement of funds while complying with required State and Federal Good Funds statutes. Review escrow quality assurance reports and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure compliance with required business policy. Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation from settlement team to Recording and Accounting Departments Correct and resolve any post-closing issues that arise. Ensure adherence to workflow processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Scope Decision Impact: Individual Department Responsibility: None Budgetary Responsibility: No Direct Reports: No Indirect Reports: No Physical Requirements: Ability to exert minimal force of 25 pounds to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects. On occasions, may have to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Required Education/Experience Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1-3 years Escrow Officer/Assistant Escrow Officer experience Required Licensing, Registration and/or Certifications Licensing requirements as required by State/Federal Agencies Notary Public license requirements as required by State Required Skills/Knowledge Customer service skills with experience engaging with diverse homebuyer demographics. Ability to multi-task and handle fast paced and demanding work environment Effective follow up skills and attention to detail Ability to adjust well to change Ability to collaborate effectively across dispersed teams in multiple locations. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with OneNote and SoftPro is a plus Demonstrates effective collaboration skills to promote teamwork and communication among various departments and stakeholders. Demonstrates proactive initiative and self-motivation to drive tasks and projects forward independently. Exhibits exceptional time management and prioritization skills to efficiently meet deadlines and optimize task workflows. SALARY RANGE: $30 to $35 hourly depending upon experience. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus based on the successful completion of defined performance objectives. Benefits: In addition to up to 9 paid company holidays per year, employees are eligible for up to 8 days of sick pay. Moreover, eligible employees with less than 10 years of service can accrue up to 15 PTO days per year (and up to 20 PTO days per year upon 10 or more years of service).
