GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic support program that targets historically difficult courses. The SI is a current college student or recent college graduate who has taken the class equivalent before and excelled in the course. The SI should be prepared to share with students how to effectively study for the course. The SI attends the same class for each class session, taking notes and listening closely to the professor. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend all designated course sections and serve as a model student Conduct group study sessions Help students strengthen their understanding of course material and improve independent learning skills. Collaborate with faculty and discuss session plans Integrate Content and Learning Skills Keep accurate attendance records Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned. Hourly Wage: $15.00 per hour
