About the role
You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the Business and Strategic Planning Office (C1200), Business Operations Division (C1220) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a wide range of classification and position management theories, concepts, practices, laws, policies, rules, regulations, precedents and procedures required to perform a variety of assignments Experience researching and applying findings to provide solutions to a wide range of HR management functions. Experience preparing and/or reviewing position and job descriptions, conducting desk audits, writing reports of findings, providing classification training and preparing evaluations as required by authority GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience researching and presenting findings in the functional area of classification and skills in written and verbal communication. Experience developing functional training and preparing policy and/or written instruction as required. Experience interpreting regulations, applying new methods to resolve controversial issues and problems.
