- Familiarity with industry best practices, especially in Vision Zero planning and implementation, the Safe System approach, and bicyclist and pedestrian safety and standards and guidelines (e.g., MUTCD, NACTO, AASHTO, and other relevant guidelines)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other industry software
- Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- 7 to 10 years of urban planning experience
- Degree in urban planning, urban design, or related field
- AICP certification preferred

Job Summary TYLin is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner with a particular focus on Vision Zero and safety action planning; policy development; designing and implementing projects that improve safety for all users; and inclusive community engagement. The candidate will serve as TYLin's Safe Mobility champion in New York and the Northeast in partnership with the national Safe Mobility Lead. They will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, transportation engineering, data analytics, civil engineering, etc.) across TYLin offices in New York and the Northeast to manage and contribute to a portfolio of safety projects and assist in the growth of the local practice. Responsibilities & Qualifications Ideal candidates will be solutions-focused, with the ability to contribute significantly to data analyses, conceptual design, problem solving, and report writing; will be client-facing, with the ability to communicate persuasively and develop positive team dynamics; and will have demonstrated experience managing transportation projects, including the ability to understand and anticipate the larger client and business needs while successfully managing day-to-day project demands. Responsibilities will include serving as project manager or deputy project manager; leading and supporting local project proposals; and contributing to growing the technical acumen of local staff in planning for and implementing the Safe System approach.
