About the role In the role, the successful candidate will: - Ownership for assigned incidents, requests and other ticket types associated with the Linux hosting environment - Troubleshoot issues with ICT services in conjunction with Information Systems colleagues - Ensure all systems & servers are functioning & communicating properly. Systems include: - RHEL OS (version 8, upgrade to 10 planned) - RH OpenShift running in Azure (ARO) - Automation: Ansible Automation Platform, Automation Hub, Bash scripting - Version Control: Git (Bitbucket), SVN - Atlassian: Jira, Confluence - CI\CD: Jenkins, SonarQube, Sona type - Security: Rapid7, Aquasec, OSSEC - Monitoring: Opsview, Prometheus - Logging: EFK, LOKI, Splunk - Cloud: Azure Platform - Daily system administration duties - Liaise with 3rd party vendors - Ensure the Red Hat environment is patched and up to date with all security and feature patches - Monitor environment performance - Ensure Dev Ops policies, standards & procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to - Ensure relevant documentation is regularly updated & maintained - Conduct regular disaster recovery testing ensuring backup plans & documentation are up to date About you We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills: A strong understanding of best practices in terms of policies, standards and controls appropriate to a large financial services organization Background working in financial institutions preferable Relevant accreditations required Must have 5 years' experience in relevant role Possess an advanced understanding of Linux concepts and technologies Experienced at organizing, prioritising & multitasking Experience in working with 3rd party vendors Experience with: - RHEL OS (version 8, upgrade to 10 planned) - RH OpenShift running in Azure (ARO) - Ansible Automation Platform and Automation Hub - Version Control: Git (Bitbucket), SVN - Atlassian: Jira, Confluence - CI\CD: Jenkins, SonarQube, Sonatype - Security: Rapid7, Aquasec, OSSEC - Monitoring: Opsview, Prometheus - Logging: EFK, LOKI, Splunk The candidate must demonstrate: A good aptitude for relevant technologies Proven experience Linux administration Exceptional critical thinking & problem-solving ability Knowledge of best practices regarding management, control & monitoring of the Linux Environment Ability to work independently under minimal supervision Knowledge of computing infrastructures Excellent troubleshooting skills Good interpersonal & communication skills to provide support in a professional manner Ability to work on own initiative & demonstrate proactive ownership of tasks and issues with a defined SLA Self-motivated with good judgement, organisational and time management skills An ability to follow established processes & procedures and define new ones when appropriate Good attention to detail Good team working capability Dedicated and flexible work attitude What we offer At Davy, our people are our biggest investment.
