About the role
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Senior Fire Design Engineer to join our growing team in Seoul, South Korea. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering a range of fire protection engineering and design projects across multiple sectors. This position will involve fire protection mechanical and electrical system design, BIM-based modelling, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities
- Fire Fighting System Design:
- Fire fighting system design works for buildings and industrial plants
- Design of fire fighting systems including sprinklers, standpipes/hose cabinets, foam systems, gaseous suppression systems, and water spray/deluge systems etc.
- Preparation of design documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., Korea fire codes, NFPA standards, etc.)
- Coordination and interface with other disciplines (architecture, electrical, civil, HVAC, etc.)
- Fire Alarm System Design:
- Fire fighting system design works for buildings and industrial plants
- Design of fire alarm and detection systems, notification systems, emergency voice/alarm communication systems, and egress/exit signage and lighting
- Preparation of design documents in accordance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., Korea fire codes, NFPA standards, etc.)
- Coordination and interface with other disciplines (architecture, mechanical, power electrical, etc.)
- 3D Modelling (BIM)
- Development of 3D building models and fire protection facility libraries using Revit and Navisworks
- Review and coordination of interfaces with other disciplines (MEP, architectural, structural) to proactively eliminate design clashes and errors
- BIM-based quantity take-offs and enhancement of construction drawing quality
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Candidates with 9+ years of experience
- Bachelor's degree (4-year university qualification) or higher (associate degree holders may also apply)
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Lead/Discipline Lead Engineer
- Oversee technical review and manage work schedules
Requirements
- Major in Engineering
- Proficiency in English or other foreign languages (prior experience on overseas/international projects preferred)
- Firefighting Equipment Technician Certification (Mechanical Field)
- Firefighting Equipment Technician Certification (Electrical Field)
- Workplace Location:
- 226, Gasan Digital 1-ro, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Gasan-dong). Located within 500m of Gasan Digital Complex Station (Seoul Subway Line 1)
