We are particularly interested in candidates with research interests in emerging areas within behavioural IS, including (but not limited to) artificial intelligence, machine learning, and digital sustainability. There is no preference regarding methodological approach, and we welcome diverse research traditions and perspectives. We are seeking a candidate with an established international reputation and a strong, sustained research portfolio. This will be demonstrated through high-quality publications in leading Information Systems journals (such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, or Journal of the Association for Information Systems), alongside a broader portfolio across the "basket of 11" journals. Active participation in leading Information Systems conferences and a track record of attracting competitive research funding are also expected. The successful appointee will contribute to a collaborative research environment, including supervision of postgraduate research students (particularly PhD candidates) and participation in collaborative research initiatives. You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across Information Systems, including topics such as systems analysis and design, data analytics, digital transformation, enterprise systems, and emerging domains. Consistent with the University's commitment to research-led teaching, you will integrate contemporary research and industry practice into the curriculum, ensuring teaching is rigorous, relevant, and responsive to developments in the discipline. You will demonstrate a strong track record in teaching and curriculum development, and the ability to use innovative pedagogical approaches, including student-centred learning, active learning strategies, and blended delivery formats. All candidates will bring the ability to contribute service and citizenship within and beyond the University, and to actively participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees and activities. The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) is one of seven departments within the Business School. ISOM delivers a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses spanning Information Systems, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Business Analytics. Within ISOM, the Behavioural Information Systems discipline comprises a group of 14 academic staff with a strong track record of research excellence. ISOM is home to the Centre of Digital Enterprise (CODE) , a research centre focused on digital transformation, addressing challenges faced by organisations, governments, and society in an increasingly digital environment. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) permanent position (subject to continuation). Remuneration is from NZ$165,808 per annum depending on experience and achievements, and will be aligned with our Academic Standards policy .
