Position Summary: The Associate HRBP Coordinator is responsible for providing frontline human resources support during weekend shifts at our Ohio lab operations. This role serves as the primary contact for employees and leaders on the weekend shift, ensuring consistent delivery of People programs, policy guidance, and processes during non-traditional business hours. This position reports to the Senior HR Business Partner and works closely with operational leaders to support a high-performing, employee-centered workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Employee Experience
  • Serve as the primary onsite People contact for weekend employees and leaders
  • Respond to employee questions related to policies, benefits, attendance, payroll, leaves, and workplace concerns
  • Support employee relations matters by gathering facts, documenting concerns, and escalating to the Sr. HRBP as appropriate
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive work environment through employee engagement and recognition efforts and promoting company culture and values
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience teams to support employee experiences for weekend hires as needed (i.e. onboarding, etc.)
  • People Operations & Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records by following documentation procedures and processing HR transactions in HR systems in a timely manner ensuring alignment with cross-functional partners
  • Assist with leave of absence administration, reasonable accommodation, leave documentation, and employee follow-up
  • Maintain documentation related to attendance, employee concerns, and operational trends
  • Distribute People-related communications as needed
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures
  • Support investigations related to employee concerns when needed
  • Escalate urgent employee relations, compliance, or workplace safety issues promptly to the Sr. HRBP as appropriate
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Manager & Operational Continuity
  • Provide clear weekend handoffs to the Sr. HRBP at the close of each weekend shift
  • Track recurring employee concerns, trends, and operational risks to proactively identify solutions
  • Work Environment: This position is based on-site during weekend hours. Thursday - Sunday 7:30am - 5:30pm
  • Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 annually

Requirements

  • Required:
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in real-time with limited oversight during non-traditional hours
  • Comfortable walking production/distribution floors and engaging directly with employees in operational environments
  • Self-motivated and ready to contribute from day one, with a willingness to take initiative and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Understands the pace and demands of operational environments and can balance employee support with business continuity needs.
  • Preferred:
  • 1-2 years of experience in HR, employee relations, or workforce support roles
  • Knowledge of labor laws, employment practices, and workplace policies
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and HRIS platforms such as RipplingExperience supporting multi-shift operations or weekend workforce populations in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
  • Knowledge of leave administration, workers' compensation, ADA accommodations, or FMLA processes
  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives in frontline environments
  • Experience supporting hourly shift-based, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, retail, or high-volume operational environments preferred
