Software product owner

About the role

Our client is looking for a Software Product Owner to join a highly skilled and international product development team working with SmartView, an Android-based HMI application used across multiple machine platforms. SmartView enables operators to interact with machine camera systems and related safety-critical functions such as front and rear view, sound integration, and AI-based object and people detection. The product plays an important role in ensuring safe and efficient machine operation in complex environments. In this role, you will take on full product ownership responsibilities rather than hands-on coding. You will work closely with development teams, system engineers, and stakeholders to define, prioritize, and drive the product roadmap and backlog. The environment is agile and fast-paced, involving daily coordination, ticket handling, and continuous alignment across multiple technical domains and products. Depending on your seniority, you may take ownership of one or several products within the same Android-based platform.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive one or more SmartView products
• Manage backlog, tickets, and sprint planning in an Agile setup
• Act as a key interface between stakeholders, developers, and product teams
• Ensure alignment across the Android platform and system-level dependencies
• Support delivery of a safety-critical product used across multiple machine platforms
• Participate in daily stand-ups and ongoing cross-functional coordination

Requirements

• Several years of experience in product ownership, system engineering, or other relevant roles within complex technical environments
• Strong understanding of Android-based systems or embedded software environments
• Experience working in Agile teams with backlog and ticket management
• Fluent in english
• Experience in a Product Owner or similar product management role
• Experience with perception- and camera systems, or AI-based applications
• Previous work in international and distributed teams
• Experience from companies within heavy industry or vehicle development

• You are structured and communicative, with a strong sense of ownership in fast-moving and sometimes high-pressure environments. You are comfortable in coordination-heavy roles where multiple stakeholders rely on your clarity, prioritization, and follow-through.
• You have a flexible and adaptable mindset, allowing you to shift between priorities while maintaining progress even in changing conditions. You enjoy working in collaborative, international teams and are motivated by developing products with real-world impact in complex technical environments.
• You navigate ambiguity with a positive and solution-oriented attitude, and you thrive when working close to both people and technology.

• Working hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours
• Start date: To be agreed
• Employment type: You will work as a consultant for 12 months before you have the opportunity to transition to employment with our client
