About the role

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To manage the movement of products, supplies and equipment to and from John Crane Canada- Edmonton branch. SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO : Handles all materials through the department which includes loading, unloading, packaging, unpacking, counting and issuing the proper paper work or online entries for inventory and transportation. Operates gas or electric for lift trucks, hoists, hand tools and other equipment to load and unload trucks. Processes incoming material and writing the receiving tickets for all inventory items, supplies and equipment received. Records location for holding and storage of material awaiting inspection and pick up. Prepares products for transportation by rating, palletizing and using appropriate protective materials. Weighs and meters shipments for transportation (labels, adds postage, records weights and units, prepares bills of lading and air bills.) Performs other duties as required. High school degree. College diploma preferred. Computer skills a must in Microsoft Office, SAP, AS400. 1-3 years of related experience in international shipping a big plus. Forklift/ lift truck experience and a valid driver's license. Lifting up to 35 pounds for short distances. Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
