Responsibilities

  • Operate large tractor-trailer (or truck) and Cargo-Master (overhead type crane in truck) and associated equipment.
  • Load and unload supplies, material, and equipment.
  • Pick up and deliver freight, supplies, materials and equipment from dealers, manufacturers, service shops, or other units of the Company and report abnormal conditions found at delivery points.
  • Maintain logs and records as required by the Company and government. Transport, load, and unload hazardous material, such as oil-filled equipment and lead-acid batteries, under required safety procedures, and be familiar with regulations concerning transport of such material.
  • Perform minor maintenance on tractor-trailer (or truck) and maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition and report needed repairs.
  • Direct and train other employees in the delivering of supplies, materials, equipment and in driving a tractor-trailer (or truck).
  • Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned, including general work in the distribution center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Work Experience requirement listed below:
  • A working knowledge of the methods for handling and loading heavy equipment.
  • Ability to efficiently and safely operate tractor-trailer equipment, as well as knowledge of laws and regulations relating to its operation.
  • Possess or obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) for operating tractor-trailer equipment within six months of employment.
  • Must comply with Operating Company specific residency requirements.
