Grade Level (for internal use): 11 The Team: The S&P Global Ratings Commercial Team is responsible for optimizing relationships and commercial outcomes with a broad set of issuer clients. Y ou will be responsible for specific client coverage within your assigned portfolio, ensuring deep relationship management and driving AI adoption initiatives that enhance our service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day‑to‑day commercial point of contact for an assigned portfolio, delivering consistent, high‑quality client service with dedicated focus on specific client coverage strategies
  • Support revenue retention and growth by articulating S&P Global Ratings' value proposition, identifying opportunities, and executing proactive outreach and business development while maintaining deep relationship management practices
  • Partner with senior team members on commercial discussions and operational execution
  • Identify cross‑sell opportunities by understanding client needs and leveraging market and transaction insights
  • Lead AI adoption initiatives by identifying practical use cases, supporting pilots with product and analytics teams, and driving implementation of innovative solutions that enhance client engagement
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Ratings products, processes, and use cases to support informed client conversations
  • Track and manage opportunities in CRM systems with accurate data, timely follow‑up, and operational discipline
  • Monitor client activity, market developments, and transaction flow to surface potential commercial opportunities
  • Collaborate across internal teams to ensure coordinated client coverage and adherence to regulatory and commercial separation requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of client materials, account plans, and internal reporting
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

Requirements

  • Basic Required Qualifications:
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 4 - 7 years of experience in sales, relationship management, or client service within a financial services environment
  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Economics, or related field)
  • Strong track record in relationship management with demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, and credit fundamentals
  • Demonstrated learning agility and ability to quickly absorb new products, services, and use cases
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information and build client credibility across different audiences and levels
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and CRM discipline while delivering high-quality work consistently
  • Ability to work with incomplete or conflicting data and identify solutions in non-routine situations
  • Demonstrated ability to bounce back from setbacks, remain positive and focused, even in the face of challenges and obstacles
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior exposure to credit ratings, fixed income, or issuer‑focused client coverage
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams to deploy commercial solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into action
  • CFA, MBA, or Masters of Finance
