Requirements

The higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of relevant experience. -- PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Interim Housing Team as the Safety Support Coordinator at the Yale Navigation Center. ABOUT OUR INTERIM HOUSING PROGRAMS Our Interim Housing programs provide low-barrier, high-tolerance settings for program participants, referred to as guests, who are experiencing homelessness and have a variety of complex health, functional and social needs. These home-like environments are coupled with support and case management services to assist guests with developing a plan to break the cycle of homelessness, stabilize in housing and reintegrate into the community. WHAT IS A SAFETY SUPPORT COORDINATOR? As part of the Interim Housing team, the Safety Support Coordinator proactively works to ensure the Interim Housing site is a safe environment for all staff, program participants, and visitors. This includes monitoring the site's facilities and grounds for any concerns, building rapport with participants to engage them in maintaining safety at the site, and aiding and supporting when crisis situations do arise. Responsibilities of the Safety Support Coordinator include: Assisting with ensuring the overall safety of the interim housing site through observation, de-escalation strategies, and ongoing participant engagement Coordinate with the onsite case management team to provide support to the interim housing site. Coordinate with contracted security agencies (if applicable) to ensure the safety of the interim housing site. Conduct regular rounds of the interim housing site and facility grounds and communicate and observed discrepancies or concerns. Assist the Associate Director with drafting written documentation and written correspondence regarding the safety and security of the site. In collaboration with supervisors and the case management team, respond to interim housing security and/or crisis situations as they arise by utilizing non-violent crisis intervention and verbal de-escalation strategies, including the team approach. Assist with the development of forms, procedures, and manuals for the Metro LA Interim Housing. Assist with completing reports as necessary or requested WHAT YOU BRING We're looking for candidates that: Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPAA standards Are excellent at communicating, whether in writing or verbally Have acute attention to detail Possess a high level of tolerance and understanding for individuals with urgent and multiple case management and health needs Work just as well independently as they do on a team Exercise mature judgement, and are highly motivated, self-starting and proactive Have strong interpersonal skills Have a strong sense of prioritization and can coordinate multiple demands in a high-pressure environment
