Job DescriptionStarting Salary: $47,604.00Essential Functions:Responsible for grounds maintenance to include mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, landscaping, and debris cleanup in coordination with the State Construction/Maintenance Administrator and the Base Facility Manager.Responsible for preventive maintenance and minor repairs of all grounds keeping tools and equipment to include power mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, vacuums, trailers, and carts.Apply chemical treatments (fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides) to lawns, flower beds, and pavement areas as required.Attend training on safety procedures, tools and equipment operations, and general maintenance procedures as needed.Attend staff meetings as required.Assists other skilled or licensed tradesmen as mission dictates.Assist Plumbing craftsman in maintaining and repairing plumbing fixtures such as sinks, traps, faucets, urinals, toilets, and other equipment using water such as irrigation systems and waste disposal systems as needed.Assist Electrical craftsman in maintaining and repairing light fixtures, receptacles and switches; replaces light bulbs; oils and cleans motors; troubleshoots and makes electrical repairs not requiring a license as needed.Assist HVAC craftsman in maintaining and repairing various types of heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, such as components, pumps, fans, humidifiers, electric motors, and heat exchangers as needed.Operates various types of equipment used in construction and maintenance of building and grounds, such as trucks, tractors, fork-lifts, lawn mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, vacuums, trailers, and electric carts.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
