Scope of Position The Mechanical Assembly Technician (Plumbing & Electrical) assembles, installs, and tests electrical and plumbing systems in accordance with schematics, drawings, and work instructions. This role supports quality, cost, safety, and delivery objectives through hands‑on assembly, inspection, and functional testing of commercial and industrial water treatment products. This position reports to the Value Stream Supervisor and is onsite. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Manufacture components based on designs, drawings, and work instructions. Review electrical schematics and establish accurate electrical box layouts. Install electrical components such as switches, breakers, sensors, and transformers. Pull, route, and terminate high‑ and low‑voltage wiring into electrical boxes per specifications. Perform plumbing assembly of PVC, CPVC, and stainless‑steel components to build final assemblies. Measure, cut, join, and secure piping components using appropriate fittings and methods. Inspect assembled plumbing systems for proper alignment, fit, and leaks. Perform basic electrical testing and troubleshooting during assembly. Verify work is completed in accordance with procedures, drawings, and work orders. Perform functional testing of completed electrical and plumbing systems to verify proper operation. Document test results and report nonconformances or defects to supervision. Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency) Travel Requirements: 0% Required Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent skill set 3+ years of experience in electrical and plumbing assembly or related technical work Mechanical aptitude and experience with commercial plumbing and electrical layout Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and written procedures Proficiency using hand tools and power tools Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Dependable, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to perform well under production deadlines and pressure Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable. Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
