Job's mission As Head of People Japan, you will lead the country People agenda by setting clear direction, enabling collaboration, and leveraging global and regional People resources to support business success. Acting as a trusted partner to Japan leadership, you will translate ASM's culture, values, and global People strategy into effective local policies and practices. This role is critical in ensuring compliant, consistent, and high‑quality People experiences that enable performance, engagement, and long-term growth. What you will be working on Set the strategic direction for the People function in Japan, fostering strong collaboration within the local People team, global Centers of Expertise, and outsourced service providers Partner closely with country leadership and key stakeholders to drive business success through impactful People initiatives aligned with ASM's culture and values Govern and deliver ASM People strategies, policies, processes, and programs at country level, ensuring alignment with global frameworks and local needs Translate global People policies into locally compliant practices, ensuring full adherence to Japanese labor legislation and regulations Ensure efficiency, consistency, and accuracy of People processes to deliver a high-quality experience for candidates, employees, and managers Provide People leadership and support to the business in achieving BU/SU-specific objectives and priorities Monitor business and regional dynamics, trends, and workforce needs, assessing their impact and proactively adjusting People strategies Lead, develop, and empower the Japan People team to deliver high standards of service and strategic partnership
