Environmental Protection Specialist

About the role

You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Fleet Environmental Program Department of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using comprehensive knowledge to serve as a recognized technical authority in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance; 2) Ensuring that any risks associated with a proposed action are communicated to the decision-maker prior to signature of a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) or Record of Decision (ROD); 3) Communicating with other internal and external organizational components; and 4) Serving as an expert in reviewing and advising on a wide range of federal and state environmental statutes, regulations and Executive Orders, including the National Environmental Policy Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, California Coastal Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and Marine Mammal Protection Act.
