  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build capacity for the delivery of excellent skin and wound care
  • Practice within the inter professional team model
  • Responsible for promoting best practices in skin and wound care
  • Facilitates application of relevant information to make effective judgments and decisions that lead the management of care
  • Promotes professional practice and excellence in the care of persons with skin, wound, and ostomy needs
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Decision making, problem recognition and problem solving
  • Facilitate the identification and development of staffs learning needs through coaching and leadership, implements and evaluates strategies to increase learning and ongoing development of the inter professional team
  • Research, design, implement, and evaluate programs of evidence based practice
  • Create capacity among inter professional team members to provide excellence in skin wound and ostomy care and the evaluation of care
  • Provides clinical consultation to staff, patients and, or family member
  • Identifies learning needs and uses adult education concepts in planning, designing and implementing educational strategies.
  • Acts as a resource, coach and mentor to clinicians and opportunities for patient education
  • Support innovative development/implementation of patient centered approach to pressure injury management
  • What you bring to the role:
  • Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or working towards required
  • Five years RN experience, or an equivalent combination of post graduate training specific to wound care treatment and management
  • Wounds Canada membership an asset
  • Completion of course work relevant to area of expertise, such as credentials for Enterostomal Therapist, International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course or comparable course an asset
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and implementation of evidenced based practice
  • A strong desire and capacity to promote professional practice and excellence in evidence-based, patient centered care
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Excellent decision making, problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Excellent computer literacy including knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent documentation skills and data collection
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Work Schedule:
  • Mon - Fri 8:30-16:30
  • Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
