As a Senior Collaboration and Productivity Engineer, you will serve as a key technical resource responsible for the advanced administration, engineering, and continuous improvement of the Microsoft 365 environment. This role combines deep hands-on technical expertise with emerging leadership capability to drive the design and delivery of M365 solutions that enhance productivity, collaboration, and security across the organization. In this role, you will take ownership of complex initiatives, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor and guide junior team members while partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions. Outcomes and Activities This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required . However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member. Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Intune, and related services. Evaluate and recommend new Microsoft 365 tools, features, and capabilities to improve collaboration, productivity, and security for the organization. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for multiple M365 applications and processes, providing advanced troubleshooting and escalated support to the IT organization and end users. Manage and optimize Azure Active Directory, AAD Connect, Azure App Proxy, and hybrid identity integrations with on-premises Active Directory. Design and implement automation solutions using PowerShell to reduce manual effort and drive operational consistency across the M365 environment. Oversee the health, availability, and performance of M365 services; proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact end users. Collaborate closely with the Service Desk, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure a seamless and high-quality end-user experience. Create and maintain thorough documentation for processes, procedures, configurations, and runbooks. Take an active role in major incidents, providing expert-level diagnosis and resolution while communicating effectively with stakeholders. Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises and maintain up-to-date recovery documentation. Provide on-call and after-hours support for change management, maintenance, and critical troubleshooting. Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
