About the role

The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for missile platforms . Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineers own the full development lifecycle , from concept generation to integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems that meet the demands of complex, contested environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate hardware for high-speed air vehicles.
  • Own full design lifecycles, from initial concept to real-world deployment.
  • Apply first principles of physics to guide all decisions and design processes.
  • Lead design reviews, conduct analyses, visit vendors, and define and execute hardware test plans.
  • Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.
  • Travel to test sites or vendor locations as needed
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in advanced air vehicle programs.
  • Familiarity with hypersonic missile systems and military standards.
  • Hands-on experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into high-speed air vehicles.
  • Proficiency in designing mechanical parts using CAD software and a strong understanding of manufacturing methods, including machining, sheet metal work, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, and composite lamination.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and first principles.
  • BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Requirements

  • Experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter software.
  • Expertise in air vehicle subsystem layouts, architectural trade studies, and vendor data evaluations.
  • An active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency in advanced engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and/or electrical domains.
  • US Salary Range
  • $129,000 - $171,000 USD
