About the role
The Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for missile platforms . Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate hardware for high-speed air vehicles.
- Own full design lifecycles, from initial concept to real-world deployment.
- Apply first principles of physics to guide all decisions and design processes.
- Lead design reviews, conduct analyses, visit vendors, and define and execute hardware test plans.
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production.
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed.
- Travel to test sites or vendor locations as needed
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in advanced air vehicle programs.
- Familiarity with hypersonic missile systems and military standards.
- Hands-on experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into high-speed air vehicles.
- Proficiency in designing mechanical parts using CAD software and a strong understanding of manufacturing methods, including machining, sheet metal work, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, and composite lamination.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and first principles.
- BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Requirements
- Experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter software.
- Expertise in air vehicle subsystem layouts, architectural trade studies, and vendor data evaluations.
- An active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Proficiency in advanced engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and/or electrical domains.
- US Salary Range
- $129,000 - $171,000 USD
