This role is responsible for leading and supervising Single Audit engagements and assuming full responsibility for all phases of the audit, including planning, risk assessment, internal control evaluation over compliance, testing of major federal programs, and reporting. Audit Managers identify, communicate, and assist in resolving audit findings and compliance issues, coordinate with federal and state oversight agencies as needed, and ensure timely and accurate issuance of Single Audit reports. Your work will include, but not be limited to: Technical Determine appropriate Single Audit objectives, scope, and methodology, including identification of major federal programs, risk assessment, and compliance requirements in accordance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) and applicable federal agency regulations. Lead and plan Single Audit engagements, including coordination of financial statement and compliance audit components. Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of Schedules of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) and related disclosures. Review audit workpapers, compliance testing, internal control documentation, findings, and reports to ensure adherence to professional standards and firm quality requirements. Supervise and manage engagement staff, including assigning work, monitoring progress, and resolving technical and engagement issues. Provide thorough, timely, and constructive reviews of staff work products, identifying coaching and development opportunities. Assist in the preparation and review of Single Audit reports, including reporting on findings, questioned costs, and corrective action plans. Stay current on developments affecting Uniform Guidance, federal compliance requirements, AICPA Audit Guide (Government Auditing Standards and Single Audits), and firm policies. Staff Delegates and manages the work of consultants in practice; monitors/maintains morale of engagement Conduct performance reviews and contribute to feedback for staff; follow up with staff relative to career development objectives/plan Identifies needs for practice resources and recruits the right staff giving consideration to technical competencies and culture Ensures appropriate distribution of projects to facilitate staff development while achieving project objectives and economic goals Ensures integration of individual career development plans with the practice plan Coaches others to be effective in developing staff Mentors staff in the development of their relationships with clients Identifies, attracts and develops staff to provide necessary skills and competencies to serve clients Providing appropriate and timely performance feedback to those supervised Effectively conducts staff career planning sessions Provides balanced feedback to staff Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting, retaining and training other consultants/ professionals Practice Syndicates ideas and services to other practice developers Facilitates the development of practice development skills of others Potential to participate in proposal opportunities for new and existing clients Initiating "cross selling" opportunities with the engagement team; demonstrates knowledge of firm services relevant to this client Develop a broader understanding of clients' operations, funding sources, and regulatory environment to proactively identify ways the firm can add value.
