About the role

A&L Goodbody (ALG) is currently seeking to hire a qualified solicitor (with 2-5 PQE) to join our market-leading EU, Competition & Procurement team, with a particular focus on public procurement law. This is an opportunity to develop within a market-leading public procurement practice, advising on complex and strategically significant matters for public and private sector clients. The Team Our team brings many years of private and public experience advising on EU, competition and public procurement law. The team are leaders in Ireland in their fields of expertise providing clients with strategic advice and advocacy across these areas, and for its leading position in the Irish market. We advise on all aspects of EU, competition & procurement law, working with an impressive client base that includes domestic and global corporations, as well as state and semi-state bodies. Our market-leading procurement practice supports contracting authorities, utilities and bidders across a wide range of sectors, advising on complex, high-value and strategically important projects. Our practice is characterised by close collaboration, not just within the team, but across the firm. We work seamlessly with our Projects & Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering and Corporate groups, as well as our Disputes and Investigations group, to deliver practical, commercially focused advice and support throughout the procurement lifecycle. Working alongside our multidisciplinary Client Technology team, we also leverage innovative legal technology and tools to support efficient procurement processes and contract management solutions for our clients. The Role In this role, you will develop your skills and experience across a broad range of public procurement matters, including: Advising contracting authorities and utilities on the design and implementation of procurement processes Supporting bidders through all stages of tender processes, including strategy, clarification questions and submissions Drafting and advising on tender documentation, framework agreements and public contracts Advising on compliance with EU and Irish procurement rules, including remedies and standstill obligations Managing procurement-related challenges and litigation before the Irish courts Advising on modifications to public contracts and ongoing contract management issues Supporting on strategic projects involving infrastructure, energy, technology and public services Advising on the interaction between procurement law and broader regulatory frameworks including State aid and the Foreign Subsidies Regulation Preparing and delivering client training, public speaking engagements, presentations and knowledge initiatives on procurement law developments Ireland's continued investment in infrastructure and public services, alongside evolving EU procurement regulations, makes procurement law a dynamic and growing area. You will gain first-hand experience advising on high-profile procurement processes and disputes, working closely with both public sector clients and private sector participants.
