Since 1965, Stoneridge has designed and manufactured advanced, award-winning technologies including driveline and transmission actuation systems, vision systems, emissions control systems, safety systems, and security and monitoring systems for vehicle OEMs in the commercial vehicle, automotive, off-highway and agricultural vehicle markets. We're focused on the areas of greatest market need - both today and tomorrow. Our core products and technologies are aligned with industry megatrends including safety and security, vehicle intelligence, fuel efficiency and emissions. Join the Stoneridge Team as we continue to build upon our strong history and reputation for quality products to deliver innovative products and systems that address a need, exceed our customers' expectations, and motivate our team. Objective of the position In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing electronic architectures and PCBs for both existing and future projects. You'll work with tools like Altium and Siemens Xpedition, translating customer requirements into robust hardware solutions while ensuring manufacturability, EMC/EMI performance, and compliance with industry standards. Collaboration is key-you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to DFMEAs, and support products currently being manufactured. Characterization of activities Develops hardware for new or updated products, focusing on PCB design with tools such as Altium or Siemens Xpedition. Translate customer and product requirements into design specifications, perform simulations, and collaborate on testing and validation. Select appropriate materials and components, ensure EMC/EMI performance, and consider DFT/DFM for manufacturability. Creates and maintains detailed design documentation, working within the Stoneridge Product Launch Program (SPLP) process. Supports project execution by maintaining tools and processes, aligning planning with schedules, and ensuring manufacturability through collaboration with production. Contributes to product improvement and innovation through DFMEAs, service support, and proposing solutions based on expertise and market insights. Education, Experience and Knowledge BSc in Electrical or Embedded Systems Engineering with 3-5 years of experience in automotive electronics development. Strong PCB design expertise (DxDesigner, PADS, Siemens Xpedition) including layout, manufacturability (PCB/PCBA), and lab validation. Solid background in analog and digital design, including simulation (SPICE, signal integrity), complex analog circuits, and EMC/EMI/ESD troubleshooting. Experience with embedded systems, including CPU architectures, memories, basic programming, FPGA, and vehicle communication interfaces (CAN) plus wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, modems). Familiarity with automotive standards and processes (ISO 26262, DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D) is a pre; requirement management (DOORS), and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). Strong analytical and reliability engineering skills, combined with hands-on lab experience, structured way of working, and effective communication in cross-functional teams.
